Current Projects:

• The Mignonettes, 2017  –
  This unique trio features singer-songwriter and poet Angie Kirby, cellist / acclaimed composer Eloise Gynn and virtuoso violinist Bethan Frieze. In addition to performing original compositions, they arrange delicate renditions of traditional folk ballads, as well as mesmerising, haunting interpretations of medieval Sephardic music.
• Miss Maud’s Folly. Folk noir / cabaret band with European gypsy  / jazz influences. Lead singer, guitarist, songwriter and arranger – 2005 – present

• Commision for the Cardiff and Vale Health Charity – Our Orchard is a poem for the Our Orchard project at Llandough Hospital (2019)
• My poem Home is featured in an interactive exhibition by artist Marion Cheung at Llandough Hospital (2019)
• Home, a poem inspired by the reforestation charity Size of Wales, 2018
• The Naked Citizens, Snatching Her Away. Guest singer – released March 2017
• The Last Mermaid, Wales Millennium Centre Festival of Voice. Singer and performer, April / May 2016 (Guardian review)
• Collaboration with Brazilian artist Gaio de Lima, combining original compositions with traditional West African music – Spring 2016

Past Projects and Workshops:

• Sunström. A collaborative project with producer Siôn Trefor, which combined Angie’s narrative, song-writing style and Sion’s electro-synth production and orchestration. Low-fi folk electronica with classical and choral elements. (2014 – 2016)
• The Grange Gardens Project with Art Shell and Cardiff University. Commissioned to write and perform a series of songs based on historical events from the area of Grangetown, Cardiff – Nov 2015
• Artist in residence. Totaldobže, Riga. Collaboration with local artists and musicians to create a performance piece based on Eastern European folklore – April 2015   
• Music workshop for adults with learning difficulties, Amelia Trust Farm – June 2014
• Singing workshop for young people in palliative care, Wales Millennium Centre – August 2013
• Weekly music and song-writing workshops at a residential children’s home – 2010 – 2011
• The Klezmer Kollectiv. Session singer, singing traditional Klezmer songs in Yiddish and Hebrew – 2009 – 2010
• Angie & the Bear. Indie / alternative group with Arabesque influences. Lead singer, guitarist and songwriter – 2001 – 2005
